Official Rules for Pilot This!TM 2.0
Entry Limits: Only one entry per kit is allowed.
Recipe Formulation: You are free to develop your own recipe with these stipulations:
1. The beer must be a hoppy Brett style beer.
2. You must use ONLY one (1) Saccharomyces and two (2) Brettanomyces yeast strains from the listed strains.
3. If you are sourcing the yeast yourself, it must be the same brand and style listed.
4. You are limited to only the ingredients in the kit. Nothing can be added to the ingredients.
5. You may use water finings and clearing ingredients, i.e. water salts, whirfloc/irish moss, Isinglas/gelatin.
6. Everything must be documented. This is just good brewing practice.
Entry Requirements: Each entry shall consist of three (3) 12 oz. bottles. NO FLIP-TOP BOTTLES ALLOWED (Grolsch style bottles). All commercial and homemade labels must be removed. Bottles should be free of identifying marks, no raised letters (Sam Adams bottles are okay). Bottle caps should be plain or have any markings inked or blacked out. Bottle must have labels attached by rubber band, preferably around the bottle neck – no glue or tape. Only original embossed entry forms and bottle labels will be accepted; you must use the forms and labels provided in the kit. Each entry must include your recipe printed on the official VetterBrew HomeBrew Supply entry form with embossed seal. VetterBrew HomeBrew Supply, Green Bench Brewing and Cigar City Brewing are not responsible for lost entry forms and no replacement forms will be provided.
Important: Entering the contest constitutes permission for VetterBrew HomeBrew Supply, Green Bench Brewing and Cigar City Brewing to use your recipe, your name, your picture and biographical information (whether now known or hereafter devised) in perpetuity for the purpose of manufacturing, promoting, advertising and trade, of any product by VetterBrew HomeBrew Supply without compensation, unless prohibited by law.
Deadline: All entries are due by 5:00 PM EST, January 19, 2018 and should be delivered to VetterBrew HomeBrew Supply, 2705 Cypress Drive, Clearwater, FL 33763. Late entries will not be accepted.
Judging: All judging will take place at Green Bench Brewing. All judges decisions are final.
Winner: The winner will be notified by February 1, 2018. The winning beer will be brewed at Green Bench Brewing in St. Petersburg, Florida at a time and date to be determined by the brewery. Cigar City Brewing, Green Bench Brewing and VetterBrew HomeBrew Supply will not provide any travel, lodging or compensation to the winner.
